Spring break

Its now been two weeks since I was in the Dominican Republic. I probably should have blogged about it once I got back, but I was bombarded with homework since I did not do any over break.
To describe my Spring break in one word.... unforgettable. I would do anything to go back. Everyday consisted waking up whenever we wanted, going to the beach all day, ordering whatever drinks/food we desired, relaxing, tubing, shopping, a delicious dinner, and then going out at night. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
I went with my two roommates (also my best friends from when I was little), one of my best guy friends from school, and then his best friend from home. Everyone had a blast together and by the second night it was as if we had been friends for years!
Switching into school mode after being in the DR for a week was nearly impossible. I tried to study on the plane ride back, but that didn't work out well at all. My lack of ability to study all break, even when I was in Maryland, really took a toll on me when I had my second physiology test on that Tuesday....

Poem 2

Sun and Sand

It is around the time of year,
That college students dream of and parents fear.
When I’ve had all the school I can take,
I finally know it is time for Spring break.

With nothing to lose and much to gain,
I quickly buy a ticket for that plane.
I cannot wait to be on that flight,
With only the Dominican in my sight.

As my vacation closes in and the beaches draw near,
I begin to feel the heat from the sun that is not offered here.
With the sun on my back and sand in my toes,
I can’t believe Spring break is so close!
