Tuesday night out...

The past few weeks have been nothing but full of stress, homework, studying and exams! Tuesday I took my last exam until after Spring break! Until I leave for Spring break I plan on trying to start studying ahead of time for classes since I won't be over Spring break, starting papers due later this month, relaxing, and catching up on sleep....finally!
Sooo, since Tuesday at 1o'clock was the first time in weeks I felt relieved and stress free, my roommate, myself, and some other stressed out nursing major friends decided to live a little and go out on a Tuesday. For the past few weeks lots of Stevenson students have been going to a college night in Fed Hill. Nearly, every week I get several texts asking if I'm coming out and every week they receive the same response "Sorry :( I can't this week I gotta study... Have fun though!". But not this week.
Fed Hill is kind of a hike from Stevenson, so the big group of us that went decided to take the metro there, because SUPPOSEDLY the metro stop was only a few minutes away, and then split a cab back because if we had enough people it wouldn't be that expensive.
I don't think anyone has taken the Baltimore Metro and has had a normal experience, am i right? We certainly met a few 'characters' and made a few friends that helped us out when we got off at our stop. Little did we know, the metro stop being only 'a few minutes away', turned out being only a few miles away and more like 20 minutes away. Thank goodness we were with a big group of people and several guys, because walking the streets of Baltimore at 11:30 at night is just a tad sketchy. After FINALLY arriving, the hassle of getting there seemed all worth it! Everyone had a fun time and forgot all about the stress of school or the havoc of getting there. However, getting there seemed easy when it came to deciding how to get back.
We were in a group of apart 8 and no van taxi services were coming by, so instead we had to pawn a few people off to different car pools and get a car taxi. The taxi driver was reckless, and probably one of the worst drivers! However, he cut us a big break by only charging a flat rate instead of running the meter. The ride back only got worse when we discovered not everyone had cash, so instead of splitting the cost equally a few of us ending up paying a lot more then we wanted. Buttt, we returned safely and at a reasonable hour so thats all that mattered.
So...this blog probably just seems like its all complaining about this crazy night out; while I can not deny the night was a lot more stressful than I had planned, the night was crazy and everyone had a blast!

Counting down the days...

Today was the first day in a week or two I have not had to worry about studying immediately after my classes were done for the day. I was actually able to enjoy the amazing weather and not stress about any upcoming exams or quizzes....well at least for a few hours.
After not sleeping but a total of 6 hours Sunday through Tuesday, I finally gave my brain a rest, got a good night sleep and spent today doing absolutely nothing. And the best part is, actually went to bed before 5am, and got more sleep in one night then I got total in three days. However, a few hours was all I could give myself off, for I am already back in the library beginning to study for the next two exams I have, which are Monday and Tuesday. The title to this blog is not intended to mean 'counting down the days' until my exams, but rather counting down the days until Tuesday is over. After this Tuesday, I am exam/quiz/project free until after Spring break! 17 more days...17 more days....17 more days
For 6 days I am not going to worry about anything other then what bathing suit to wear and what drink to order. However, once those 6 days are over its back to the stressful real world, which is definitely going to be a hard adjustment that I am not looking forward to.

The Upcoming Weekend

While my weekends are usually consumed with homework/studying, with the occasional night out with my friends. However, while this weekend I wouldn't mind my normal lackadaisical two days off (for my upcoming week is supppperrrr busy), of course, my weekend is completely packed.
Recently, I was hired by Stevenson Athletics to work game days, and this weekend is the first men's lacrosse game. Since I'm completely broke after booking my spring break trip, I couldn't deny working a game I would spend my time attending anyways. Maybe I'll be able to squeeze in some studying and downtime in the morning... hopefully. With it being the first lacrosse game of the year, depending on the turnout, the rest of my Saturday night will be spent celebrating! While that is probably not the smartest idea because of how much studying I have, and the fact I have to be up early the next morning; I know when the time comes I'll convince myself I should go out.
Sunday, which I usually have alllll day to myself; to sleep in, actually get breakfast, relax and then start studying, is packed full as well. I am an assistant coach to a club volleyball team and they have a tournament in DC. I recently had to miss a tournament because of the Polar Bear Plunge, so I know I must keep to my word and be there for this one. I am pretty excited to spend the day in DC, however that 7am wake up call Sunday morning is going to feel great....
Now that I have written these weekend plans out, I am realizing how little time I have for studying and I  am probably going to rearrange some priorities for Saturday. Either that or pull all nighters Monday and Tuesday.... Debatable.
Hope everyone else has an exciting weekend!

FINALLY.

For about a month now, my best friends from school and I have been planning...well attempting to plan a spring break trip! We were not picky about where to go as long as there was a beach, and somewhat economical, since we are all broke college kids.
First it was Jamaica, then once Expedia made a mistake with our flight, our plans changed to Cancun. Once again, Expedia made another mistake with our money (and basically took it without our authorization); we decided it was the end of using Expedia. (On a side note to anyone reading this: Never try and plan a trip through Expedia! Worst idea we ever had). Once all our money was finally put back into the account, after nearly a week of waiting patiently, we were on the hunt again for an unforgettable spring break!
After dedicating nearly half my day, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC here we come! And, while the expedia drama was very unnecessary and a hassle, it kind of worked out in our favor. This trip to the Dominican is by the far the nicest, safest, dream come true trip!
....in the Dominican, with my best friends, for 6 nights, in an all-inclusive resort, with the gorgeous beach and ocean just steps away...Need I say more?!
